Todd and Laura Pineo met while working together in a restaurant back in 1993. They got married in 1995, lived in South Windsor, CT, and raised two great kids, Sam and Will.
In 1995, they established their first enterprise, TL Catering, which evolved into a successful business that remained in operation for over 10 years. Unfortunately, in 2005, Todd suffered from a stroke, and due to his illness, they had to permanently close TL Catering. Todd eventually improved by going to rehab and by the incredible support from his wife, his family, and friends.
Back in the summer of 2006, The Pineos obtained The Red Cabin and started the renovations. The Red Cabin opened in September of 2006. They were able to keep their doors open through the pandemic due to the incredible generosity of their customers.
In the summer of 2021, the Pineos found their second location, located in Willington, CT. They began major renovations, and on September 1, 2022, they opened Flat Pennies Kitchen.
After their son, William, graduated from Roger Williams University in 2022 with a degree in marketing, he decided to join the family business. Their daughter, Sam, graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2023 and practices law with a firm in Boston, Massachusetts.
They are beyond grateful for the ongoing support of the local community. The Pineo Family plans on keeping The Red Cabin Doors open for many years to come.
